stuff designed for print should be 300, 600, 1200 dpi.

stuff designed for the web should be 150? 72?

disgust is liked by many
does it really matter all that much in the end, as long as it looks decent?

lol yes it does, if you don't use at least 300 for printing a photoshop image, ur goign to find its very pixelated. 1200dpi, i doubt anyone will ever need to use, but 300-600 for printing, 72 for web is the norm.

Dark_Matter is on the right pathDark_Matter is on the right path
72ppi is all

If you have a PC, your screen only shows 72 pixels per inch, for Mac I think it's 98ppi. If you're designing just for the web, anything higher only makes the download longer without improving the picture.

I hate it when a site takes forever to load, then I figure out that all the images are some ridculous resolution. Ya gotta take the time to learn these things if u wanna publish on the web.

doesnt really make sense though, cos like the default DPI on photoshop is 72dpi. No need to change anything.

About the print size, it depends on the type of print.
The thump rule is 1,4 - 2 x LPI
so 2xLPI = DPI
If we take something like a newspaper and the LPI (lines pr. inch) is 85, then the image will be 120-170 DPI (85x2=170)

Domi is liked by many
First of all owning a Mac or a PC doesn't determine the maximum or minimum resolution! Lmao! Your monitor display determines this! Rofl! Some manufacturers of display monitors would be Sony, Dell, Samsung, etc.

2nd of all, dpi has nothing to do with display at all! Lol! Display is measured in ppi, i.e. "pixels per inch." Lofl!

3rd, the standard is 72 ppi, but with evolving technology, the standard may be improved. Currently my monitor displays 96 ppi, & no it's not a Mac! Lmfao! Many monitors surpass even 96 ppi, all the way to the thousands & thousands ppi!
