atm I have 512k. I could never go back the those dark days of 56k. Im in the UK.

yeah it does download faster, but i usually use stuff like P2P software which is dependent on the other people's speed too.

I work for an ISP... we have a 128kb, 3mb & 5mb service.... $29.95, $44.95 & $44.95 + cost of the modem (all prices in Canadian...)

I'v got 3mb and i think 700k upload i dont really remeber and pay around 45$/month and i live in the USA also. The actual throughput i get is around 250-600kbps depending on the server but an average of 400-500kbps.

Apparently I have a "Downstream speeds of up to 3Mbps and upload speeds of up to 384Kbps," on occaision ( every 6 months or so) it goes down for a few days and the Indian call center people don't have a clue about what to do. Oh and I have Earthlink Cable, and I'm in Ohio, USA.

We're swithcing to Comcast soon, which is supposed to be faster than that now.
