Forms in IE

When I add a form to the design and view it in IE, it breaks the cells apart; adding what appears to be padding, it doesnt do it in Opera or Netscape. I deleted the image and made it a bg image, then put the form within that cell. IE expands the bg image to fit and it works but looks crap, whats it doing that for?

Yeah its perfect in Opera et al, just IE I can do it by setting all adjacent cells/images to bg, then whatever IE is doing with the cell it can expand to accomodate it. Is this the way though?

I seem to of muddled my way around it. IE must add some padding on the text field part? If I make all cells on the row that contains the form bg images, then it works without breaking the design apart. I dont seem to have to do this in Opera et al.

Im starting to not like IE anymore. Annoying things like no support for PNG transparency; it looks blue grrr, then adding padding to text areas.
