I am mostly using Dreamweaver for editing CSS and HTML and I am happy with CS3 but once in past I have used EngInSite CSS Editor and impressed with it. SO you can go with it as it is lite too than Dreamweaver

I am not aware of any editor that will tell you syntax errors; anybody know of any like that?

If you mean, you have made a typing mistake, TopStyle is a colour coded editor and will not change to the correct colour if you have made a typing mistake.
You can also use the W3C CSS Validator ( http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/) to upload your stylesheet to check as you go.

I was talking about a local machine editor program. But the w3 validator sort of work as well. Thanks pal.

Topstyle pro is the best, quick startup, able to give code hint for a number of languages and fairly cheap.

I prefer Dreamweaver as it color codes everything nicely. If you want to validate your CSS, W3.org has a good validator.
