tables

Hey I am trying to create a website by starting off with designing the layout in photoshop.

Lets say I create the look of the website in photoshop, and slice it up, and then export it to dreamweaver. When I add all of my updates, the page needs to extend downward, but I only created what the page is supposed to look like for only maybe one or two updates. How do I make it re-create the look as I add more information?

I think you only need to edit the HTML if you want to make the changes in contents only. If you want to make change in design itself then you need to make the changes in PSD and need to re-slice it and redo the HTML

what IndianWebmaster said or simply leave nice blank white spaces within your photoshop design and simply put <td></td>'s in there that you can add text to. You must be wary of borders and the like here it can get complicated but if you stick to the basics then it will be fine.

Yes the slice job in ps really should take into account at what point the content will begin to or need to expand the divs vertically to accommodate new content.

Typically, when I design a template, I make sure that divs can be expanded as much as they want, vertically, by slicing up an expansion line of at least 1 pixel. That way, the developer/coder can use this 1 pixel image as a bg fill and that particular div to add new content.
