Difference Between Directory and Linkfarm?

direct one way links are the best to have as far as linking goes, especially if they are topic pertinent and have decent PR..soo I also understand that link farms are looked down upon when SEOing, especially trying to figure out the Google Algorithm...my question is how to determine whether a directory IS infact a directory or a link farm because I have seen some link farms that look like directories..at least to me.

Well for me, directories that allow any link to be listed and just click accept all the time, then its a farm link directory and will be banned from google sooner or later.

A real quality web directory would review every submitted site manually and would accept seo friendly web sites.

I have many web directories and i offer free listing in all of them, still i reject most links either because they are spam links or they doesn't follow the rules or of low page rank or even not seo, that way i keep my directories clean, professional and seo and offer quality source for visitors.
