How about 20 or 30 or 50 at the very best?
|
The very best general directories:
1. Homepage indexed in the major search engines
2. Quick placement of your link
3. Fewer links/listings per page
4. Human edited (ostensibly)
Ok. What about them?

3 main problems with automated submissions
1) the list they use, most programs only submit to phpLD directories, while the very best directories don't use that system, so miss out on the very best ones
2) the programs make many mistakes; wrong category, too long/too short descriptions etc.
3) they don't check the directories, most of them will not give a direct link, so that's just a waste of time
what you could do; order 500 submissions and then do 500 more automated, that way you get as well got links as a lot of links, as those automated programs do have 1 advantage ... they're fast, very fast ...

I don't considered and preffer automatic submission because you do not know the exactly results where you put your links. I usually do manual submission to observe or update all the approved listing for my site

The thing I've noticed is that you have to look up where your website link is going to be posted. In many cases I've noticed that the directories will post you site on a page that is not even listed in Google or is so far back in there site that it will bring little or no create to my site.

Most of the quality directories have captcha protection.
automatic software some times does not support captcha protected directories.
also automatic software have following disadvantages.
1. wrong categories.
2. useless websites.

manual submission is the best way to get quality back-links. i prefer this method although you can submit semi-automatic way. This is totally my personal view.

I've done this myself and haven't relied on automated submissions before.

IMHO I would not use automated directory submissions, I prefer to do all the work with my own two hands so if anything, i mean ANYTHING, ever goes wrong I can only hold myself accountable instead of some offshore company hosted inf Bakalalistan that submits Urls for me.

Yeah. It "shoots" the submissions right to the directory.

Tip:
You can use informenter a firefox ad ons for directory submission rather than copy and paste
Hope It can help you rather than automatic directory submission and as far as I know automatic submission involves money by paying current services for submission.

automatic directory submission is really vest of time, but now we can submit on directories fast becaz there r too many software to fill forms they increase submission speed. just go to submission page and the form will be fill automatically then select your categories and fill captcha and press submitt button.
so if anybody submit on directories fast that not mean that he is do automatic directory submission.

www.digiXmas.com is a good semi-automated program, they don't have any of the link-farm directories in their list
the only problem is that the program can't submit to the top-directories, so although you do get links from it and it will help your rankings (a little bit), manually submissions (done by professionals) will just give you more and better results
anyway, just make sure you don't submit to any iEntry directory, those will actually harm your rankings
most other 'bad' directories are just a waste of time as google don't index them, which also means they will not hurt your rankings, as your link will simply never be registered

anyway, I'm totally shocked how many people here shamelessly talk about stuff they obviously don't have a clue about ... believe me; forum links are not worth it!

last but not least; this is how professionals do it;
their seo-expert submits to some paid and niche-directories, while the expert also orders from a professional service 500-1000 manual submissions on top of that
most importantly; directory submissions is just step 1: get it done, forget about it and move on ... much more important work is still ahead of you!
