Wen you say "trying", what have you been doing?
Luckily I am not an editor and therefore not reviewing your sony site - you have banned my IP address from your forum (I have never been near it before). Imagine what would happen if I was the editor reviewing it.
The other site in your signature is probably not listable

Once or twice a year I will go through the application page, fill it out and submit it.

You either have an IP address out of Asia or some part of Europe that is served by the Ripe network. I have banned dozens of networks out of both locations because of spammers.
New security measures have been set up since those bans were put into place. So I went ahead and removed the networks bans. You should be able to access the site now.
But to answer your question, the "sony site" is my wifes forum. And it is not the one I have tried to get listed with dmoz.

That is my sons gaming site, and is not the one I have tried to get listed.
This is my main forum - survivalistboards.com That is the site I have been trying to get included in the dmoz.

When you resubmit, you just overwrite the previosu submission with the new date and disadvantage yoursefl.

So your IP is out of the Asian Pacific realm. That is why you got the "you have been banned" message. All of those networks have been unblocked since you posted your message.
But no comment on my main forum as to why it has never been included?

I can access it now (From a different IP) - The Sony camera forum is probably not listed as it just does not have enough content and activity (members and posts). The threshold to get a forum listed is high as so many do not succeed.

A site of mine has been listed in DMOZ for near on 10 years now, if not a little more... I recently (about 2 years ago) requested DMOZ to update the URL to our new domain, which was done - sadly the description wasn't updated, which is hilarious...
The site is described as having, get this, Over 400 megs of downloads! LOL. In today's day and age that's not only very small, but while it still describes my site, it doesn't really reflect the reality, in which it has since grown to over 55 Gigs! haha
But yeah, DMOZ is a really hard project to be part of, it's a lot of thankless work, I know. Good to still be with it after all this time!

Would you exaplin what this means?
If by "threshold" you mean traffic/activity parameters then this is a very poor working policy. It gives no incentive to owners of high quality, unique forums in under represented niches to look to DMOZ.
I have one such forum. It is unlikely that it will ever command the traffic you might get at, say, a soccer or webmaster or political forum largely because the forum subject is rather specialised. However there is a genuine need for such a forum, and Google and other search engines realise and reward the merits of the forum.

Birdie might have been over generalising so let's look at a few examples.
A Manchester United fan forum with fewer than 1000 members would probably add no value to DMOZ.
A lesser spotted owl twitching forum with 20 members would probably be seen as valuable.
Any forum with most threads created by the owner each with a length of one might as well be regarded as a personal blog .
It's all a matter of scale, usefulness and 'uniqueness' (as always).

Paging Jim Noble
Jim,
I'm still waiting for your reply to my reply to your post
http://www.v7n.com/forums/1019308-post40.html
You think you can do it, or my simple question happen to be outside of your intellectual spectrum?
I tell you what... you can use yes or not answer.

time to adjourn...dMoz does not provide what people expect to - neither in terms of traffic nor in terms of page rank...and as it lacks control on its editors its reputation is at stake.

Yes, simply I submitted all my sites in Regional categories. I think contact information is very important for this.

I think it's good if your site has contact information - treet, town, country, post code, telephone...
