As more than half the new sites that get listed in DMOZ were never submitted in the first place, your question is somewhat meaningless.
If a site is suggested, it can take anywhere from hours to years to never before an editor reviews it. Also keep in mind that editors are not there to process submission and some editors do not even look at the pool of suggested sites when looking for sites to add (too much rubbish gets submitted).
If you asking about your webmaster forum, assume it might have been deleted/rejected as insufficient unique content. The threshold for forums to get listed is high - they need to have a lot of members; a lot of posts and be very active and have what other forums already listed do not have --- I do not see that on your site. There are just some many webmaster forums out there, you need to have something to stand out from the pack to get listed.

I'm not sure if you read my first post or just browsed it and decided to reply but I was asking in terms of "others" experiences, which means other site owners, I never asked to have my site reviewed nor asked about dmoz in relation to my site.
I still want to and originally wanted to hear other site owners stories on how long it took them to get listed.
Have a wonderful day

Never mind Birdie.
His job in this forum is to "review your site" and to make you feel bad

but, he is right about the rest and as soon as he learn to reply:
"NEVER, STOP DREAMING", his job in this forum will be done

I know DMOZ receives 30K sites for submission every day.. and only 6000 editor (volunteers) which obviously works not full time.. So can you imagine how long it can take.. I am waiting more than two years..

So, why don't they hire new volunteers to become editors. I tried 3 times, filled all the necessary forms for a really VERY small category. No luck....

Are you sure that they didn't visit your sites? May be they didn't like something.

I would be helpful if they could send something, even a canned response, to say a site was rejected and give *some* indication why.

They don't send emails and say nothing. If you speak about your home page simply check it here: http://validator.w3.org and don't forget to add "www". Validator shows so many mistakes and warnings. Correct all these problems on every pages and resubmit your site to Dmoz. I'm sure they will visit the site very soon, just a few weeks :-)
PS. It's simply my opinion and may be I'm not right...

Making sure the category you submit to has an editor helps. You can see if it it does the bottom of each category..Other than that patience I believe

That makes absolutely NO difference. Where did you get this misinformation from or did you make it up?

You are welcome. Neither of the sites in your signature are listable.
