What are the chances of Standard (free) listing in Yahoo, for an average site ?

decent if it is a non commercial site.

one of my sites was listed in about a month and another in about a week.

it depends on what you mean by commercial, but if the site is geared toward making money and converting more than giving away good info

I have never had any luck at all with any sites at Yahoo. I've decided it isn't even worth my time trying any more.

Sorry, forgot to ask you, is there any system available to find out that the url is listed or not?, except checking it every day.

when they decide to list you they send you an email telling you your site will be listed in the next directory update (typically within 48 hours of getting the email notification)
