Hi,

Search with google for free directories or any other keywords for directories.

I think if google will give you url of directories means directories are approved by google.

Thanks

You mean the one with dead links?

DMOZ never included single directory in the past 3 years and a few it still listed, dead already.

Is there such a thing as Google approved directories? Google no longer suggests listing your site in DMOZ; does that mean it's no longer approved?
I don't thing there's such a thing as Google approved directories or Google disapproved directories.

The real question is directories will give you the best benefit by being listed there? Answer: Quality niche directories, then quality directories

So which are quality directories? The ones with high PR I hear someone say? No, not if they're new, have no listings but are PR5
Try the directories that have been around as a directory for more than a year as they are more likely to remain around; and the ones that have listings with unique and accurate descriptions rather than keyword rich descriptions.

This is correct. One way to see if Google thinks the directory is a quality directory is to search for the page title of the directory or some of the text on one of the pages. If it comes up in google then you know the directory is indexed and that it has the possibility of getting search engine traffic.

Sorry, as we try and keep telling people, we are not a listing service. We do not undertake to review the pool of suggested sites in good time, it can take from a few days to a few years.

The editors at DMOZ are volunteers, each working in their spare time, it is their hobby. Their task is to build categories and they can do that how they choose. The pool of suggested sites is only one source and in some categories a very useful source in others mostly spam.

But we cannot say how long it will take for a review, with a possible listing, from the suggestions pool, because we cannot say when a editor will choose to use that category's suggestions to try and build up that category. Could be days could be years.

Submit and forget. Suggest a site then go and promote it elsewhere there is nothing, short of becoming an editor, that you can do towards a listing in DMOZ.

Try at least 3 years.
If directory owner tenacious enough to maintain directory after 2 years, then there is good chance that directory owner is going to be around for some time to keep it going.

i don't know if there's such a thing as google approved directories but those already listed in dmoz would likely carry special weight if you got into them.

submit to dmoz and see if you get in. cutts made it clear in one of his videos that while they don't 'suggest' submitting specifically to yahoo and dmoz anymore that it's certainly fine to submit to them and others.

& continue work on getting listed in other quality directories with decent pr who have been around a while or are 'trusted' - there are plenty of lists out there

This statement is completely absurd and does nothing to inform or otherwise assist the OP. The Open Directory Project has 4737 categories of directories with the majority having sites added within the last three years, and many within the last few months.

I think that it is fair to say however the explosion of worthless pay for inclusion directories that exist primarily for the provision of links for SEO purposes has caused the ODP to be rather cautious on the whole question and has set the bar rather high for directories in general and particularly high for those purporting to be comprehensive directories.
