Figured I'd start a thread of Tygo to help answer any questions people may have about the search engine and directory.

Tygo.com is a search engine and a directory. The directory allows for submission in three different ways. First off there is free submission of non-commercial sites. The second way is to become an editor to assist build the directory both structure and content. The third is the express inclusion which is paid, a one time fee. All sites in the directory will be spidered frequently.

All the search results on Tygo are our own, we have been spidering for a while with the user agent of TygoProwler.

Could talk all day long about it, but ill look forward to your questions about it.

I've checked out Tygo a couple times. Mainly wondering two things - 1. why is the domain registered through domainsbyproxy.com? And #2, how many searches per day?

Mostly for development stages is why we have it setup for Domains by Proxy. We've been developing the site for some time and it was not open to the public till recently nor was it advertised or out of beta stages. This will be changed shortly

Can't say searches per day as we're rapidly increasing in hits, searches and so forth but last month we had over 1.25 million searches, this month it has already topped 3 million and counting.

Very sympatico I must say, there are many non profit sites out there that already costs loads of time and money to the owners and do have good content and excellent design, if not an important message. Those sites deserve to get some exposure, and a little help from their commercial collegues.

The search results are kind of old.

For example, a search for webmaster forum brings up this forum from december when it was still webmaster-forum.net.

Over the next few weeks you will notice the spider running more frequently as it visits sites getting the freshest of data. For a site that has a old version simply resubmit the new url.

Jonathan - the search crawler known as TygoProwler is constantly under development as better crawlability is enabled.
