Check your DMOZ submission status!

I know you've all been waiting for something like this.

http://open-directory-status.com

They promise to send you updates by email of your site submission status.

It's free for now but they will start to charge in the future.

Hope this helps some of us.

So I tried seotie. All it did was email me that a site I had submitted was in the index with no specifics. Talk about over promise and under deliver. You'd be upset if you had paid for that. open-directory-status.com has reports with content supplied by the editors. I hope it is more worthwhile.

I think SEOtie does what most of us need it to do, and if that comes in without bells and whistles but is FREE then great.

I found another neat service to get immediate feedback as to whether your site is included or not:
Try:
http://www.whois.sc/dmoz/yoursite.com

Just enter your own domain name instead of yoursite.com

Nice huh?

So I got a report. It just tells me which sites have been included. I already new about these sites so I guess the thrill of the report was diminished a bit. They do resemble sample reports on the site sans editor comments.

Seotie was intended to allow you to take a more active role in your SEO. It is great to see a report of all of your domains in a directory, but when you manage hundreds of domains it is easy to miss the specific things you might be looking for. Seotie now offers support for Yahoo!, Google and Tygo directories, which do not have an direct feed. It will also monitor specific categories, so that you are aware of your domain's status in categories you ahve submitted it to, and will be beter able to fine tune your marketing strategy based on the way it will be indexed in multiple directories.

Seotie is also free for essentially the same service.

Thanks
