Paypal or Credit Card
I'm just trying to get some feedback here. I have a merchant account and a secure sever for uncover the net. Which would you guys like most as a primary payment option. 1) Paypal (like Bluefind, Sevenseek and currently Uncover the Net); 2) Credit Card (Just enter your details on the site).
Thanks for the feedback
Shawn

Since you already have merchant account I would do both to meet the desires for both people who like CC transactions and paypal.

I agree with offering the option for both, but I'm more concerned with which option everyone likes more?

If I had the option, I'd choose Paypal. Paypal is easier for those who have an account.

I then choose Paypal if had to choose one. Rates for you may be slightly cheaper than typically merchant account too...
Paypal will even let you pay inside your account with credit card it you really want to pay that way too. So in some aspects you do get the ability to do both.

I like PayPal. If you process the credit cards onsite, you'll always have a crackpot or two that claims that you sell credit card numbers to the Russian mafia.

For some non US visitors Paypal is not an option.
I live at Peru, and could not get my Paypal account until we finally incorporated at USA and could get a business account.
In the other hand, accepting credit cards from non US is sometimes though as very risky, I think, from a merchant point of view.
Regards.

Good to know, thanks Bruce
Alexis,,,yes sadly there is an extremely high amount of fraud on oversead transactions. My wife has a clothing business and shipped out over 1k of clothing to Nigeria only to find out it was a stolen card, and she was out the stock and the money and the chargeback fees

Oops, sorry to know about that.
We just got our merchant account a few weeks ago and we all have to be very careful because, as Spider Man's uncle said, "With great power comes great responsability", or something like that
Regards!

<2c>PayPal would definately be my choice also, I prefer that my CC details reside in one location (PP), and I'm always weary of entering the details elsewhere.</2c>

paypal is more convenient. refunds are easy. security is less a problem. anyone who has a credit card (and live in a developed country ?) can use paypal too.
If you add credit card images to payment page, this would add credibility and prestige to your site.
