Great site. Yes, obviously you need regular news to keep driving traffic to it. Best way is to hang around all the relevant forums and pick up stories about what's happening from them.
Shocked to read that Site-Sift too have dropped to PR0.

Thank you Azam.com. We will keep all section of our site updated, not just the news. But you are right, the news section will probably be updated more often then other sections.
I was not surprised at all that Site-Sift dropped to PR0, it was just the matter of time.

This is why I was not surprised -> site-sift-removed. It was obvious. Just to let you know I don't have anything against Site-Sift. It is a nice directory, I just saw it coming.

Ok, advertising for Site-Sift ended, which was followed by a removal from the Google index.
So, WDW, what you're saying is that the end of the advertising *caused* the subsequent removal from the index? This may be true, but I certainly don't see any proof of a causal relationship.
Am I missing something?

Hi Brian,
The other crucial factor from the article you didn't mention is that those links (advertising) made the vast majority of links pointing to that site. So basically what I am saying is that if you have for example more then 80% of your backlinks coming from one high PR site, and they are gone all of a sudden, you will be kicked out of the index and lose your PR.
Proof? Site-sift.com, bluefind.com, another 2 websites I am managing. One of those 2 sites I created just to test the theory. And it makes perfect sense even if you don't have any proof, and the links don't have to come from advertising. If you lose more then 80% of your backlinks at once, just watch what is going to happen.

Um. Sorry, but your theory fails there. You are saying that BlueFind lost 80% of its backlinks, then got dropped from the index. It didn't happen that way. The order is backwards.
BlueFind got dropped from the index, then we discontinued the Jupiter Media campaign and the backlink count dropped.
I also need to say, I find it odd that you use this forum to promote your website, but don't even include this forum in your list of forums.
