DMOZ: no editor?

If a DMOZ category has no editor, then is it worth submitting to?

Is there someone up the heirarchy who will still (eventually) deal with submissions, or are categories with no editor effectievly dead in the water?

Someone futher up will take care of it eventually. The editor who edits say the Travel catagory takes care of all, if they have time, of the sub-catagories and their sub-cats and so on no matter how deep they are.

I've thought of applying for some of the home and building categories but I've heard so many stories.. not sure if I want to deal with the political BS.

Suggesting the same website or subpages thereof to multiple categories is a good way to get yourself the kind of reputation within ODP that you probably don't want.

Oh and it's also against the submission guidelines.
