Yeah, I saw that one too. Pretty funny stuff. LIke someone said over on DP, their quick removal shows that Dmoz actually can act quickly when they want to

Those bastards! lol I will not give up
Hello to all,
Thank you Colleen for noticing the listing and menti0oning it here. that was awesome, I would have never known. This actually shows how much Dmoz is open to criticism. They have boasted many times about having that category and that they are open to all critical voices, but this clearly shows that they are not. What baffles me is that the site have been banned by Google as well. Even though it has many external links (not reciprocal), and I have personally submitted it to Google, and Google does list my Blog at ( http://dmoz-sucks.blogspot.com/) which links to the main site. DmozSucks.org is very much needed by anyone who is listed or would like to be listed on Dmoz. Dmoz can be great for websites, and can in fact also negatively affect your website as well, people should be free to discuss all aspects of the "open directory" in a free and open forum since The Resource-Zone is too restrictive and I have personally seen them punish people for posting anything negative. The site is very much needed.
Thanks again
Joe

By the way, the site still shows at Dmoz if you search for it.

The search database is always lagging behind, it will be gone next update.

Sorry DmozSucks, I think I just breezed over the wizardofdmoz site. Essentially I didn't get the full context the site was created in, therefore that's the site I thought you were referring to originally when I followed the link Colleen provided here:

Hey JohnScott, I read your blog entry and it is true. I do run a couple of directories and know exactly what you're talking about with all the crappy submissions. Yet the DmozSucks website is a not-for-profit and does not promote any product or service, and is very much needed. I do understand why they would take it out, and why they were very fast to correct their listing "error". They don't want to see a centralized location for people to take jabs at them or to expose their short-comings.
I have always argued that they needed to turn it into a commercial entity, it will never be free from abuse until then.
You might need to open up your V7 directory for free inclusion at least until you get a decent number of listing then switch it to paid submissions.
Unless you already have an "army of editors" as Dmoz likes to call them, who will sleep at the keyboard surfing and adding good sites.
(unlike the lazy ones at Dmoz where a listing can take up to 3 years to be reviewd)

That category does include some criticisms of DMOZ. Odd that they do not include DMOZ sucks. I don't know why they include criticism to begin with. I would never submit YahooSucks.com to Yahoo...

Yeah I see that, but those are only 3 safe, old and stale links. Which in a way gives an impression of being open to criticism and allowing them to boast about having such category when in reality they are far from being open.
By the way is that a monkey in your picture avatar (looks funny)
