It seems to me that you are an ex-editor. You should know that DMOZ only lists one site from the same onwer if his other sites are about the same or related subjects. That is why your second site is not listed.
Look my friend from the looks of it you seem fresh. Yes I became a member of the X-Men and my Category is Casseroles and Woks . Before I joined DMOZ my sites were already and have been listed. It doesn't have anything to do with 2 of my sites. I am just the Bitches Favorite because of my Good Looks and Charms and I am already married. Ask Jake Mathai. There is even a thread at RZ at Eds Only that have the line.
Sorry PaulX I am not against or have anything against you. I am not in conforme with some of the policies and the other editors. But overall there are much more nice people inside DMOZ. I know.

Something very nasty must have happened to you. I'm sorry about that. But I'm afraid a can't do anything about that situation.
I also have totaly no idea what you are talking about with "X-Men" (I only know those from the comicbooks) "Casseroles and Woks" and "Jake Mathai" (can't find anything about him on RZ, did find an editor with that name)
I dont even submit to dmoz anymore, waste of 5 minutes everytime.
If your site is listable 5 minutes doesn't seem a waste to me.
But if you are looking for a quick listing and a boost in traffic I must agree that DMOZ is not the place to go. I guess you will have to rely on a paid Yahoo listing for a quick review.

Erm, it IS a waste of time if the category is dead. I know for fact from speaking with other editors there are categories that haven't even been looked at in over a year.
Explain how it's not a waste of time to submit to such a category...
As I said DMOZ is not the place to go if you want a quick listing.
But spending 5 minutes for something offered for free seems a good bargain to me.
BTW that category has "Last update: 7:46 PT, Wednesday, March 1, 2006" at the bottom. But from the logs it seems to me that no editor is realy interested in that category. Unlucky fo you but not a problem for DMOZ as DMOZ is much more interested in the directory as a whole where webmasters are mostly interested in the one category their site could be listed in. Maybe tomorrow an editor takes interest in the category and proces the few suggestions waiting review.
Most probably because it isn't reviewed yet.
If the category isn't the best an editor will move it to a better category. No problem, certainly not with such a small difference in categories as you mentioned.

Wow, ok... ummm.. apparently you just missed the question, unintentially of course, because it seems you didn't even attempt to explain it. So I'll post it again for you cuz I'm a heck-of-a-guy like that.
Me: "Explain how it's not a waste of time to submit to such a category..."
Wait... you already did answer it. Let me summarize...
You: Of course it's a waste of time. In fact we don't really care about all the sub categories that are hopelessly neglected. We just care about the directory as a whole.... err... minus the aforementioned neglected directories...
Its a waste of time arguing with these DMOZ Editors. They always come up with excuses. Blind Loyalty that what it is. They know everything and think they are supreme beings. (Special Mention: The Lady from Oak Ridge)

Congrats on the entry. I got one of my sites in out of 3.
Thank our comrade at the other forum who is now an editor of Mustang Cars maybe he was the one who reviewed the site. I don't know I'm not sure. Just take a look.

Not all, I just recommend listing it for some. Since if it is listable, an editor will get to find your site even locally where you are. The
