After submitting a url, how much time does it take them to add my url to the directory?

I usually expect it to be approved or rejected within two weeks, but some places are backed up and it may take months.

I registered at about 20 web dirs and I am still waiting for them to acknowledge my URL submissions

Would generally depend on the backlog of the directories....

Why not check out directories in V7N itself..

I submitted at dmoz too, and took the directories lists from V7N, there is no better place than V7N!!!

Differs for each directory. For one of my directory there is backlog of 2000 sites so may take upto one month. for other just Two days
Generally Fresh directories will approve your site so faster. (To create database and initailly there will no backlog )
