Automated vs. Manual

hello everyone!

I am assigned to be the team leader of a group assigned to submit the sites of our new client to to directories. Although it was not directly stated, I suppose the client wanted us to do automated directory submission because he thinks that the smater thing to do. As I was working on it, the software he gave us can not submit to directories that require codes -- must be some robots installed. These ones are also good directories because as far as their PR is concerned, it's very high.

Which is really better -- automated directory submission or manual submission?

If you think about it, automated could not possibly work because hundreds and thousands of people will be submitting all their pages (and spam). The poor directory owners cant possibly filter out the good from the bad even if they where full time and paid.

I think John should put http://directory.v7n.com/ as an automated service and see how it effects work load and quality

I have seen and examined the software and I found out that it can't be used for directories that has catpcha.

Is it a practical thing to do if I do automated submission side-by-side with manual?

Most people assume auto submit will submit to wrong category, or fill in wrong information, that's why people believe manual is better. however, if the software can fill in the correct information and select the correct category, auto is better than manual. It saves time and $. The directory can not tell it is manual or auto submission.

There is so much spam it rarely works. The only auto submit I consider is: Add Me.com (its FREE to use as well).

Johan007, I think maybe you misunderstood. Search engine submission does not work any more. But directory/article submission still works.

Add me is for search engine submission.

This topic is about submitting to directories and it’s the same principle as submitting to search engines. Add me contains some Search Engines that are directory driven.

Article submitting is somewhat different and totally unproven. The only proven and lasting method of SEO left is PR generation, viral and pay per click.

Hey thanks Johan! This is another tool new to me and haven't heard of this not until now form you. Thanks Pal. I was really suppose to ask you about SEs.

I'm uploading articles lately through Joomla. Quite tedious and how I wish there's an autosubmitter.
