Its very shameful!! none of my website ever listed in DMOZ.
Is it possible to find category editor and email him to wake up and do your work?

mong,
i have the same exact problem. i have tried so many times and ways and just do not know how to do it. The only thing i could think of was becoming an editor, but i do not have time for that.

My latest problem with being listed in the DMOZ is that one of the editors, in a category my site would be listed in, is stealing my content. He was nice enough to get all his sites listed in the category, but not mine. The main reason, he 'was' using my RSS feed to fill his site with content.
I've made two abuse reports....but I've seen nothing come of it yet. I'm almost wondering who the abuse reports go to, the editor of that category maybe. In which case, it's falling on deaf ears.
My only concern is that my site will be penalized for the duplicate content and not his.

is it a bad idea to be using RSS feeds to constantly update info. For example, on my newest site that i am releasing www.hiptel.com, there will be an RSS feed updating VoIP news. here is an example: http://www.hiptel.com/phones/ its not filled in yet, but i am sure you can guess where its going to go. it is a small portion of the site but an easy way for me to import news and always have live content on my page. is this a bad idea?

Mong, that is the problem with DMOZ there are a bunch of lazy people (a few good editors though) and they would simply ignore you because they think of themselves as always right and with lame excuses. Why not put the site links here in this thread and hopefully a watchful eye of Senior Editors gets a glance on it. Good Luck.
gfriedm1 same to you too. Don't be an editor you will be abusive yourself and be a part of the Ass Clowns Club. Your doing good right now.

Like I said in another forum They can take your bread but not their bread. Maybe John has a better idea here. Or keep sending them Abuse Reports but that would Spam them. I guess Publish it here and one of them can read it including the site URL.

Well, with editorships going for sale on Ebay and the whole thing under the aegis of AOL, there can be nothing but painful stories...

I haven't done this, but I have mentioned in another thread that I saw some webmasters soliciting "List my site on DMOZ" at Getafreelancer.com . The average bid for doing it was around $30. I don't know if its a scam, or maybe an inside DMOZ editor community.. but worth mentioning. I'll post if I hear it works for anyone.

I have no interest in DMOZ at all
I just find the whole thing to be corrupt and really, there are so many other directories out there these days.

I agree with web10.
If you still want to submit your website to Dmoz, then catch a editor @ http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/ [A Public Forum Sponsored and Moderated by ODP Editors]
Thanks.

Try asking why your site is not listed or submit it at RZ and come back here to tell your story. Nice Response Example from Resource Zone

I've posted a question at the form, we'll see if it gets shut down, responded to...or what.
