Yeah, I think the McCoyPottery.Com webcam (no longer in service) got an award from them for Best Pottery Web Cam or something to that affect. I should resurrect that old cam!

I guess you can sue anyone for anything. But I hardly think anyone is going to sue to say they were "first".

Like someone else said earlier, it is just marketing fluff! Everyone does it... "We were the first". "We are the best". "We are ranked number one!" and so on..

I agree. we can sue anyone for anything but only can you win back the money you spend on the lawyer... and time .....

...and as we have so kindly been informed is wasn't an award sites it was a "best of class categorization direcotry."

I'm still confused about the 1994 & 1996 thing. There obviously was a site there in 1994, but alexa says botw has been online since 1996. Did the domain expire and get re-purchased during that time?

Archive.org only goes back to 1996, so I'm assuming that's where that 1996 thing is coming from.

I can honestly say, without a shred of doubt, that V7N is NOT the Internet's oldest directory, but we are one of the cleanest.
