PR6 Or Over Directories
I am getting sick of all these new directories with little PR and no PR in the sub pages try to promote themselves. I have nothing against you guys but this directory rush is just killing me. With all these sites which don't last that long since the makers realize that it takes more to keep a directory up. So this thread is for anyone who wants to seriously submit to good directories and needs a reliable directory that's been out there long enough to be considered stable. So anyone who owns or knows a PR6 or over directory post it in here. For the rest of us who don't want to waste our time going through the promotion thread.
Thank You

This is a good list and fulfills all your requirements I think. The directories listed are generally well established, reputable, reliable and are of good quality.

EDIT: A few are under PR6 - but I wouldn't let that bother you to much.

SEOcompany.ca is a great list. I'll be compiling one myself someday too.
I also run Umdum.com, which is PR 6, you might find it worth adding to your own list(s).

I don't mean to start a fight but if you read the entire post you'd see my reason at why most of these are going to end up being ghost sites.
And everyone else nice job with the links I am sure a lot of webmasters will appreciate it.
Thank You

I wouldn't just look at PR, as the toolbar updates have been pretty wonky lately. For instance, I'm sure that mystikmedia's
http://www.alivedirectory.com/
is a strong PR7 if not a PR8 yet the toolbar only shows PR 4 because it hasn't updated for 2 or 3 updates.

Ya and the category pages are all PR5 and that, but the toolbar shows PR4 for the homepage.
Chris expected a high PR in the last update but nly the homepage PR remained the same.

Didy1 everybody started one day, new directories owners are designing their directories better then some old one sometime.
What I don't like to see is 10 000 directories with the same color, same design and a lot of advertising, but this is me. I am listing my site everywhere and give a chance to the young directories owners, yes it is time consuming.
If I see a directory with PR0 and well structured, with a attractive design I will try to put my site. If I see a directory with PR7 or 9 at prohibited price with no design, no a good stucture of categories et sub categories I will skip it.
Be fair there is space for everybody on the net.
Thanks

Ha , ha , ha Very funny but some of these lower pr site kick butt on high pr sites that can only dream about being a #1 serp witch is all that counts to begin with.
If your pr 6,7,8,9,10 cant pull itself to the top of the board than how is it worth anything to begin with.
What ever ... everybody thinks they have moore of a directory than they really do .......no offence

Don't look on directory homepage PR, look PR of the place where your link will appear....
Advice: if you see that directory has rating system and best rated websites appear on homepage, or another page with way better pagerank... vote for you website once in a while from different computers... It will give you not only good PR, but also better traffic.

Yep sniperhiga, this is what I am looking for always but only if I have to pay the high price. Often, like rankland said, some little directories with no PR yet are much better organized then some big ugly one with ads everywhere with 3, 4 or 5 sub cat.

Back page pr is all that concerns a submitter anyways, but if i submit to a directory with a pr0, But has alot of traffic in my category theres only one way to go and thats up.... witch in turn will pull my site up.
I submit to a pr. 8 and that pr drops well its pulling me with it...

Isnt a directory suppost to be a resource of information for the web user and not just a back linking junction?
