What rates?

Hello.

I am about to announce my first new directory and am going to invest all the money i get from it to promote it very much and have great backlinks would would instead be good for people who would submit to our directory.

I have seen many free directories, which are free and also not at all advertised... so there would be no use normally of those.

I am going to keep this directory a paid and unique directory, so i want suggestions of the rates i should keep...

Remember, i dont want suggestions like keep it free etc., I want to know what are the normal rates in paid directories.

Is 5$ reciprocal, 10$ regular and 20$ featured a decent cost?

Frankly, if you're going to promote your directory seriously, I'd charge *double* what you're suggesting. And really use the extra money to build the directory.

(P.S. If you start with the higher prices, a lot of people will be unhappy, but they probably are not your target market anyhow).

I have many crappy directories and had never thiught i would be wondering of a directory like yours or alivedirectory.
I am not sure whether i would reach to that peak but i would be doing my full contribution to promote and optimise it.

It would be permanent and i have changed the rates...

I would agree with Jeff. He is the man is the know and what he says you must follow as he has done it.

What you need to do is just stand back and think what you are going to do. Remember that when you first start you are going to lose money and in most case will not even break even within a year if you do heavy promotion. You have got to lose money before you can make money

Ya i have already started campaining my directory and my starting budget would be in mid XXX $
But i would assure the people the people who are submitting with some good link
