DMOZ Strikes Again
After the ordinary obscene review time, v7n.com was listed (home page) as well as my blog.
Today I happened to find out that some corrupt editor got both removed.
You got to be amazed at the inconsistency of that directory, and at the ease with which corrupt editors remove and add sites. It's like nobody's home.

wow , bad luck. Shoot them an email. I also think that some of the editors own websites and remove competition.
sorry to hear that.

I think its time to take on Dmoz
Dmoz is always rude and its not a professional directory and also it takes a lot of time to get listed on Dmoz
and some times even sites like V7n.com is removed is very unfortunate
and like these scores of webmasters have suffered at the hands of Dmoz editors and Dmoz
So I have decided to take on Dmoz
In a few days time there will surprise for all you regarding this Dmoz

Until DMOZ fixes their own directory and sets down rules that they actually enforce and live by, DMOZ will just continue to be a joke. There are absolute crap sites in DMOZ with 10+ listings. But they refuse to list several of my sites because they say that they are "related". Like v7design.com - why list that when you can get to v7design.com from v7n.com/foums, which is listed?
Does that sound logical to you? It doesn't sound logical to me, and it doesn't sound credible either when DMOZ lists 10 pages of the same crap website.

My plan is to create directory with a script with as many as categories as Dmoz but I will be just using the php script
The category structure would not be like Dmoz as it has a copyright over it
It will be free directory with some standarad review time
This is all I can say about this now
I will say a lot more after I create it

you see its not a joke you can see it content is not copyrighted but directory structure is copy righted you can see the doucments at dmoz.org
But I know some directoires are using ODP data in a modified way
but what is the use of creating another Dmoz like directory
Actually Dmoz is own by netscape inturn AOL
so they have copyrights over directory structure

Ya I really feel that now Dmoz sucks I think someone should takeover this Directory and improve it. All the editors should be removed.

Well taking on a directory like Dmoz is very very very very tough if you really need to do that then you must have some money backup for you. You need atleast $100K to even think to compete with Dmoz.
Because many directories are created and disappear due to not having any financial backups.
Just think Aviva Directory is not a big directory like Dmoz its a good directory but still where it is now I am sure Jeff had spent thousands of dollars to take it upto this level.
You can even ask John how much he spends to give his directory the exposure it needs but still its in no way in a condition to stand up against Dmoz. You must have atleast $100K+ to even think about it.
Will like to hear from you people.

That is extremely unfortunate. A site like V7N definately belongs listed in DMOZ for the directory to have any credibility, but it doesn't have any credibility so that is not a real suprise. DMOZ does not serve any real purpose as people do not actual use it to find websites. Its only value is for links, and it has been abused for years.
I think all webmasters need to get together and get Google to stop connecting themselves with DMOZ and then just get all listings removed. It is time to end the charade that is DMOZ.

OK, I'll just forget about all the insults written.
Do you have something in robots.txt, htaccess or something other on v7.com that prevents some automatic tools to check on your site and its availablity. It seems that one of our tools got a non-standard response and as a result the site was moved out of the public view for an editor to look at the reason.

Which one? v7n.com or the blog?
And you can see the robots.txt here:
www.v7n.com/robots.txt (blank)
