What do you guys and gals think about starting up a local tourism business directory? Free listings, plus featured listings.
I dont really know how many offline businesses would appreciate and understand the benifits of a tourism directory.
Do you know what would be the best way to build a directory that would appeal to brick and mortar businesses? I'm thinking design would really be a big part, and ease of use. Also having the directory come up for main keywords in the top SE's is a big selling point for businesses. Any other suggestions?
What are some educated guesses as to how much something like this would cost to get it up and running?
I guess my first step is getting a business directory script, I've scoured the net looking for something that fits my need and I've come to the conclusion its probably going to have to be something custom. Has anyone ever seen something like
www.totaltravel.com.au script wise, in the form of an SEO friendly CMS script.
Would drupal be sufficient for this with a whole lot of modding and hacking?
