The Problem with those Indian Submission Companies
I hired a couple of those submission services based in India earlier in the year.
I still get submission rejection notices, 6 months after the fact.
I thought I'd make a post about how NOT to do submissions, in order to better educate those who do submissions.
1. Submission Uniquesness
Do not submit the same anchor text and description every time. Vary the submission anchor text, description, etc, to give each submission uniqueness.
Google of course loves automated filters twhich combat SEO's, and uniqueness provides some level of security in the face of automated algorithms.
2. Use a Real Email
One submission company based in India uses fake email addresses with their submissions. Doing so means that they are wasting your money and their time when they submit to web directories that require an email address be confirmed before the submission appears in the queue.
3. Submit to Wed Directories that Accept Submissions
Some web directory submission services base their price on the number of submissions. It appears that many of theses places do not care that those submissions will not get approved. It's especially obvious that they do not care when they submit to v7n directory even though we state in plain English that we won't review non-paid submissions.
They also submit to dozens of other web directories that do not accept free submissions.

And they use different IPs or tricks everytime which means we can't even ban them definitely when they submit wrongly (to us as directory owners), it sucks the way they submit sometimes. They use automated softwares and as you said, they don't care whether the submission are going to be accepted or not,
Also, its terrible when you receive a great site submitted to a very wrong category. I can't blame the site, i automaticaly think it's a guy that doesn't want to waste his time and hired some submitters... So even if it's badly submitted i have to list the site. But still i ban the guy that submitted it...

Why not ban all automated software. It is not so difficult to do.

Why do you have to list it? It is your directory isn't it. Or have you a rule that tells you to list every site submitted to the directory.

The reason is simple.
Most of the directory submissions are done by those who know zero about them.
they are given a list of places to submit along with the details and thats what they do.
lack is knowledge is the source for this.

Hi Guys,
Valid comments regarding many submission services. I am pleased to see that other people feel the same about directory submissions as myself. Relevancy, variant anchor texts are key to achieving improved link popularity & directory approval. Thank goodness for forums like this where information can be shared for free!!!

Most of them uses proxies or deceptive techniques to avoid giving me their true IP address so i can't ban all of them. Tell me how

You don't understand. When some people like John Scott or Atom or Juggopop whoever! Decide to submit their sites (whatever site) using an seo directory submissions company. And that company doesn't know how to submit sites ( read first post), i'm not going to delete the site in question, i'm just going to ban the submitter

It doesn't work like DMOZ PaulX and that is also a problem. Some website owners hire submission services and through this process they just submit it through software submission or manually. 1, 2, 3 times who knows what they do.And these might be good sites that offer good services and content that even the owners of the said site just hired a company to design their websites and seo services. The corporate office doesn't know what is going on.

Ten Commandments for directory submitters :
# Thou shalt not ignore each directory's rules.
# Thou shalt not put your interests before your client's.
# Thou shalt not use autosubmitters.
# Thou shalt not promise unrealistic acceptance rates, and generally misguide the client, just to get the job.
# Thou shalt not use one email address for all the clients jobs.
# Thou shalt not accept clients with junk websites.
# Thou shalt not compete on price, but on quality.
# Thou shall ask the clients to ammend their websites' description and titles, whenever, it is inappropriate.
# Thou shall maintain proper and timely follow up with the client.
# Thou shall honour the directory list in use.

I've had submissions to my directory from submission companies that advertise manual submissions. I guess the submitters don't read or understand English though, because they never follow the clearly posted submission guidelines nor take advantage of the 3 deep links we offer in the description field. It doesn't exactly inspire a whole lot of respect for their services. lol.

I am also manual directory submitter some companies inmistake us their email address and choose India as thier country for clients
but I would always ask my clients for more details witha minimum of three anchor texts and descriptions
I would always use my clients email as I would never use my email or any other fake email

I am totally against automatic submission. There are a lot of companies doing this kind of work for little money and poor quality.
A submission should start always by choosing different descriptions and anchor text (titles) and most important choosing the right category.
