Why was my forum rejected?
They said my forum was rejected because of lack of content, does that mean I dont have enough posts or enough unique websites?

Probably just need to grow it some. More activity. WebmasterWorld has a ton of posts so they get something like 23 listings in DMOZ.

Looks like it means exactly what it says.
Impressed they responded, though - they could be indicating that you should re-submit after you've built things up a little more.

I usually get lost in Web Master World, so I don't go there much. It's very large, and easy to post in the "wrong" forum. When that happens, you usually get chewed out.

Well, they used to have more. And if you combine WmW and sister site SearchEngineWorld, that's 13 listings. Not that there is anything wrong with it. If the listings are useful to DMOZ users, what's wrong with 50 listings for one site?
Long time no see, Donald.

hey donald, nice to see you around.
i kinda gave up on moz a long time ago. Most of the time you have to have connections with editors or super editors just to get anything submited around there anymore.

Most of the big ranks I look at have multiple DMOZ listings. It's made me realise that DMOZ is less of a "website directory" as much as a "directory of information", and it's given me a new repsect for the place. Especially where I run content sites that potentially could justify multiple listings in DMOZ for different sections.

Yeah, I like that too . Right now I'm trying to get into 5 categories that apply to my web site. So far, only 2, but I'm sure with enough peristence I'll get em all .

DMOZ Submission
I submitted two links to DMOZ last week. How long does is normally take to get requests approved?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

I think 6 months is probably the average. A lot of categories don't have editors

Um, I think it's just luck, or lack of luck. I applied twice and got rejected once, and accepted once.

Nothing. A lot of editors don't edit much at all. I think the min. is one edit per 90 days.

Thanks JS. I think I may apply for some construction type categories. Maybe get some of the sites approved.. and get rid of the garbage in there.
