Reciprocal Links

I've just started up a new site and I have been doing a ton of directory submissions & link swapping.

I've been trying to give something back to the directory owners and give each of them a reciprocal link however most directories just throw it back in my face.

I add their directory link to my site and then list the reciprocal URL (For example http://thecoder.com.au/reciprocal/w/ ). However when I press the submit button 7/10 times the site will tell me that the reciprocal URL cannot be validated. What a waist of time, I want the directory owners to know that I have listed their site but the directory won't correctly validate my link. If their not going to validate my link then I'm not going to list them on my site, so I delete them. Their loss.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it to do with the coding of my site? Or does it have something to do with the servers that the directories are hosted on?

I haven't faced that problem yet.But after i have done the submission,an automatic response appear like"You will receive a mail when your site is approved".I haven't got any approval mail.

just submit your site for free directories, reciprocal link sometimes really waste of time. There are still a lot of free directories for you to try. Even sometimes it take more than 3 months to approve our site, it better than got a headache just because to validate the reciprocal link.

This is not the problem of the directory owners, it's the problem of the directory script. Directory owners like reciprocal links less than featured links but more than regular links.

I bet those are PHPld script powered directories...

I think this has been discussed a number of times and hope it was resolved with the latest PHPld paid version..
