Free Directory Script ????? Any Idea?

Hi all

I came across some of free directory script and I noticed they are selling links

in their listing, and also offering reciprocal link.

My Question is: Is it worthy and has a value to the business as the directory

is free of charge, especialy in the bottom there is the script developper link,

and you have to pay to remove it?

What is the difference between the Free Directory Script and the Paid ones?

Any clarification will be appreciated with details as I am newbie in this

market

In most cases they are the same. You are paying for the right to remove the link. This is usually a small charge of $25 or so.

Some of the commercial scripts offer a free version to get you started and hope to sell you a script with more features later.

Probably 90% of new directories use phpld, probably is a good idea if you use it

$50 should be a fair price. but if your directory makes a lot of profit then you should unassociate it from the script developers

Do it yourself, you don't have to be a scientist. I created my own directory in about 4-5 hours. I saw phpld doesn't have optimised mysql, so that if you list tenthousands of sites it becomes slow on shared servers or even on dedicated servers.

Not every one can do that - so don't feel bad if you can't
