To generate income you need to put a lot of work, 95% of the directories popping around today will be abandoned in 1 year time.

Absolutely. First few months you have to invest then you will start earning slowly. You have to have patience otherwise you wont be successful.

The competition is very high in directories market.
It is not easy money, and it is not easy work.
If possible, make your directory more unique from others.
Use custom template, add some additional features and benefit, etc.
