What is more important -PR or Page Strength?

Content is what attract people to visit your site and come back and probably they can tell other people about your site and that can help your site growing but content does not control position at all.
However it have well indirect influence.

Yes indeed, content is necessary to the operation of a profitable website, but links control rankings.

I know of a site on every spider that never left its serp positioning #1 on the board, but every spider i find that this site gets another position
in one or two searches or pushing other site in there category that are from site.

how can this not be important is my question?

Ok john...

Lets say that a directories key words are so powerful you directory is seen top position all over the board....

Lets also say its pushing from site to the top of the searches as well....

Whats so bad about that? If that isn't important to anyone i put on my front page than theres really no reason to build a web page for your company unless your buying advertising in google.

I believe content feeds the fire..I dont even care about PR, But it comes because i have STRONG CONTENT.

I believe that traffic must be looked at carefully before buying it,but being seen top SERP position is great for traffic,and also trust...Again i believe strong content has a great deal for my positioning in the search.

Popularity will come true time, knowledge, serp,i hate to say it but pr,and media, But without good content it wont happen.

John i trust your expience, but im sticking to my game, and its working ...Thats my final answer.

I think we are mixing two different things here.

There is huge diference between Stephen Hawkins' books and London's Yellow Pages. They are of different kinds. While a normal site can be equated with books, a web directory is more of an online Yellow Page listings where people find websites that are arranged categorically and based on rankings, Other websites are more like Books that need contents.

Hence, a Directory's content is totally different from a normal website's content like bbc.co.uk. A directory's content should be how many sites are listed there and what are the qualities! The more number of quality site a directory posses the richer it is iin contents.
Whereas BBC site's content should be related to news or related items.

As John so thoughtfully pointed out-- mere quality contents will not gurantee high ranking on SERPs --but quality contents with quality backlinks will surely quarantee that.

I dont know about everybody else, but maybe im onto something, because my site is #1 in many of key words in every search.

I do not have the best sites in my directory, but i do submit to high serp position web directories, and i strongly believe regardless of pr they are the strongest links.

As far as content.....

Script, tital, keywords, and site content are very important...

Also submitting to relative site content as well....
