Great reviews.
IMOH you should also check if the directory using Private IP, and if content and descriptions are unique.

I didn't check whether they are using private IP. Ya, that's quite important.

I doubt that they are using unique desciptions because it's their users who write the description.

directory owners seems to have banned my IP for some reason, I've never even visited that site.....

I like this point:

That, IMO, should be the number one reason why a person purchases a link. You can buy PR anywhere, and for a whole lot less than that.

I think that your review was amateurish, but very thorough. Beginning sentences with "Well" is not a great thing to do, but you're point was a good one. My only advice, especially if you want to pursue site reviewing, is to improve your writing skills. I think that if you did that, you would be on to a great thing, because the review was very nice.

Sorry. Yup, my first review. But I had written a few articles before. They weren't superb or anything too.
Hope I will be able to improve my writing skills but I guess it isn't something we can I can learn overnight. Any resource I can look into for writing.

I bought a book, it's called "the only writing book you'll ever need", but I can't name the author, but it's a great book, very helpful and only cost $8.00.

Hello I have run a google search about alive directory and I have to give a review about this "company". Here is my little story:
Before 1 year at 2 of August 2007I made a subscription to Mystik Media with PayPal. I have registered my site http://www.auctions-free.com in the service AliveDirectory. In February 2008 I have left from the company that was hosting me,the site was practicaly inactive as I hadn't use it after this period.The domain has been expired from July 18.I forgot to cancel the subscription and now I have to pay 75 Dollars for a service that is not offering nothing to me as my site is not active any more and it has expired! So asked them for a refund and I think is very logical this that I am asking. THEY HAVE NEVER ANSWER ME SO FAR! NOTHING! I have open a dispute in PayPal but I made the fault to escalate the dispute in PayPal so they find the way to get rid of me by sending me one e-mail that all thinks are ok and so. I have open and another dispute for unauthorized use of my account but unfortunately this wasn't effective. Anyway I am planning to post this post in all the threads about alivedirectory and how big crappy site is.

No, unfortunately NOT.

It is true by 100%. The prices are located at http://www.alivedirectory.com/submit.php . I got a Feature annual subscription and I paid whole 74,95 Dollars for a service that:
1. First my site was not working from February
2. My site is and was not displayed in the directory. Check whichever combination of the term "auctions" you want. The site is nowhere.
3. I had forget to cancel the subscription in PayPal
4. The domain has been expired in July 18.

MystikMedia isn't online in any of the webmaster forums lately so claims here won't get your money back i suppose. Try contacting through the directory's contact form.

I contact them twice via e-mail. They didn't respond me in any of e-mails. And now I have to pay for a service that I didn't want....

Actually isn't that your fault in not canceling the subscription?
Chris is just charging for what you did. You had subscribed and then paid when the date arrived. I don't see any reason for a directory owner to offer a refund where there is no problem with the website.

The site is NOT working. That's the problem. It has stop working from February and the domain was been expired at July.

Can you find the site ( http://www.auctions-free.com ) in the directory? NO
Is the site (http://www.auctions-free.com) active? NO
Is the domain active? NO

Conclusion: Alivedirectory has remove my listing as they saw that my site was inactive BUT they didn't do anything in order to tell me that they have removed me from the directory (for instance e-mail me and inform meabout this) and this is crime. It's a crime because:
1. I have pay for a service that I didn't receive
2. I have pay for a service and I didn't want to receive
3. They have remove me from the directory without inform me

I am about to move legally against this "company" if they don't grant the refund.Period.
