It's not an absolute rule - it is just one of many possible ways to evaluate a directory's editorial integrity.

Thanks. But I doubt you will think that in about 30 seconds, after I ban you for posting numerous duplicate welcome posts and having too many links in your signature.

That checks internal links, but this thread is about checking PR of external links.

PR of links to external sites
Some directories include pagerank stats on all listings with external links, as well as, list the PR of the listings so it's easy to gauge this authority rank. Then there are the others that list neither.
I'm familiar with the iWeb tool that lets you check the PR for external links page by page... is their a script or tool that would do this for an entire site?

Sounds like a good means of measurement for the newly launched directory.

Though it's PR 8, doesnt mean ALL the pages are 8. Be sure to submit on page that has also high pr, cos pr isnt the same for each page in a site.

Average PR of Outbound Links can be seen by going to a category, and checking the PR of all links on that page.
|
Firstly, hi. I'm a newbie here so go gentle with me
Can you explain how you check the outbound links PR without checking each site seperatly.

Olympia is the capital of Washington, and it's not listed either.
I'd guess that a lot of state capitals aren't listed. We don't create categories for cities until there are enough submissions to justify the creation of the category.
There are 478 cities in California. If we created a category for each city, we'd have a lot of empty categories.

Thanks......I guess that makes sense......but would an "empty category" simply be an invitation for someone to "Be the first link on this page?"
Like the Kevin Costner movie ("Field Of Dreams")....."If you build it, they ($50 paid links) will come..."
