Problem copy and paste ASP files scripts from a back up CD

I have set up a new server and now I try to move all the web ASP files, scripts to my new server.

I do copy and paste all the files to my webroot directory. None of the page works, the browser simplely redirect me to the search engine page. I have about total 50 ASP scripts and files. None of them shows after I entered the address in the browser. No bug and no syntex errors.

If I created a very simple ASP page like "Hello world", it works fine. Then even the Hello world page stopped working after I copy and paste any parts of the code from my backup CD.

I also heard someone mentioned about domain name hard coded program, could it possible in my case?

Or could this be a permission issue? I have double checked all the permissions, they are look fine.

Because when it gets copied to CD it becomes Read Only when it gets copied off the cd. Change the permissions to not be "Read Only" and they'll work again.

The files are NOT Read-Only because I can modify and delete any of them without any problems. Also, some of the ASP pages work and some other don't.

Someone mentioned about this might be a security issue.

I would be really surprised if you do not have a permissions error.

ok I was ASSUMING that the server setup was correct, that is a good point LOM. In his first post he does say scripts work so that is what my assumption is based on.

Yeah he is saying his server works, but when he moves from cd to server it doesnt. Hence why i think he has buggered permissions

When you copy things to a cd it does not always copy the entire file. I does not copy files that are hidden. Maybe this is the problem. try networking the servers together and copy the files that way. If you have any more questions PM me
