Best directory submission tool is you
I was using some submission tools recently...
Not the best things. Most submissions fail, this tools work only for cheap directories which provide links from pages which not indexed in search engines. Moreover, all this directories look spammy.
Now i know that the best submission tool is... you.
Do it by yourself and in this case you will have your site in best free / paid directories.

I own some directories and i can smell automatic submissions right away. Once i see them, i ban website from al directories i have.
This tools is terrible thing for directory owners, once you approved link from submission tool, next day you will get 500 submissions from spam and low quality sites.

But seriously, after spending hours and hours submitting to all the free directories out there, the automatic submission tools look awfully tempting.

What is wrong with the auto submission tool. It just saves time. That doesn't make sense to go and ban someone from all the directories you own.

OMG... Submission tool will submit your site in 500 pr0-2 directories, some of them will be pr3-4 but it will be low quality with many badlinks.
It is way better when you pick only 50 quality ones, spend 40-60 min to submit, and you will be approved in 50% of them. You will get 20-30 links from quality directories!
Not quantity! Quality!

I agree with you. I used to submit throught submitting tools but now I only do it manually. I choose selection of sites where I like to submit and then submit my sites manually.

I actually wrote my own tool. One part of the program is used to research for directories and add them to a database. The other part brings up the directories for me and I just have navigate to my category and click the add link. I click a button and it auto fills in the form fields.
It does save me a lot of time.

Why people don't want to create something like Technorati but for directories. See submission instantly, report about it, see in how many directories site linked.... also, where people can share directories.
Right now i just see plain lists of directories.

Could be useful for directory owners, but not much use to the rest.

I have used ARELIS from IBP in the past. Each project gets to save details of all the directories that you have submitted to and I can actually go back to it and resubmitted to a few more.
Do your tools like inFormEnter, and ROboform save different profiles ?
How do you solve the problem of having different sites that you need to submit to directories, how do you keep track of where you have actually submitted ?

I use AllSubmitter.
Unlimited profiles, sites and directories!!!, full reports, email reports.
Network database server (FireBird), some people can work with one site and database.
Unlimited opportunities on conducting bases + it is very fast submission.
Semi-automactic, automactic submission + captcha (manual enter), the automatic analysis of forms,
Automatic submission in the same sites.
Used many various tools,
i think it's the best submission tool
