How can I make money with Directory?

Hi All,
I have a question for all directory owners on the forum. The question is;
How can I earn money by being a directory owner?

making money from a directory is not really easy. You should have sound knowledge of SEO and a good pagerank too. but getting good pagerank is not enough because u have to maintain that pagerank so that people can trust ur site as a GOOD one.

also I think making a directory only for money is not good, you should also focus on adding QUALITY websites in ur directory because now a days everyone is making a directory and it is rarely seen that a directory has quality websites listed.

I am not after money, just hoping to get some from google ads... people can add their sites for free

i havent got a directory but IMO owners of directories should have a knowledge with SEO and other things that take part on their site being popular...that way a lot will get some featured links through their site....

Also register your directory at www.directorycritic.com it has huge collection of directories and great ranking system.

Thanks John. The article was great and I plan on going back to read more later. Since I'm trying to figure out what to do with my directory. It hasn't been used to make money yet so it's interesting to see what can be done

Been almost a year now and I'm just now feeling comfortable with the money my directory is making. I throw the term 'making' around real lightly, because it's not profit. doh!?

No easy money in directories when building your own.

Put money in get money out.....Before investing though make sure your directory has a foundation,,,serp , pr , then buy traffic and popularity.

Im personally waiting ,,,,im a pr 4 now, but i will make a big move when i hit pr5 or better.
