Theres no money involved, its just the prestige and hopefully if I do a good job I can become editor of more categories

DMOZ is based on volunteers. They aren't paid.

But if there is any editor asking money for listing, there is a form which can be used for reporting such editors. Feel free to report any which is corrupted. Each category has it's own "Report Abuse" button.
