One link in Yahoo, lots in Google

Hi all,

I have about 2500 links for d-a-l.com in Google but Yahoo only picks up the main page so I'm losing out big time on Yahoo traffic, any ideas? I have been patient and that link was in yahoo back in November 2003. Thanks for any help

Your site probably needs more links from other sites. Also please clarify when you say links in Google, say pages listed on Google instead.

ok well they are links to pages on my site but anyway it seems strange that I would need more links to my site. I have other sites with many backlinks but still only one page listed in Yahoo.

I think Yahoo needs more time to do the deep search on many sites. I have the same problem and time will resolve it.

I'm going to suggest that your DAL site is not getting spidered by Yahoo because you don't have any text on the page that's not a part of a hyperlink. (Well, there's some, but not much).

Yahoo focuses more on page content than links (at least as compared to what we're used to from Google). There's no "content" on your page. It's just a list of links to other pages - something that Y! doesn't place a lot of value on. Add some descriptions to the links and content it up.

As everyone else suggested, though, you can never have too many inbound links, so don't go giving up on that end of it either.

When looking for my domain, Yahoo shows pages that i have deleted over 6 months ago

Yahoo acceps pay submission and also recive pay results from Overture

so you need to submitt your web site to Overture and yahoo. both It will help you a lot

I do not recommend using Yahoo! paid inclusion or Overture for a site that is having problems with Yahoo! listing 404 errors.

the paid search part (Overture) does not interfere with the organic side unless paid inclusion is used. paid inclusion may not cause Yahoo to drop your 404 error pages, but it might cost you a good chunk of change.

MSN R comming on good - I get some good traffic from them

i get very few hits from MSN ..
