Thumbs down If you submit your website manually, then read me!

Hello, guys!

I just created a page to help you in your manually site submissions to web directories.

It's "white hat" and doesn't require anything from your part.

I'm tired for having one browser window open displaying the Web Directory site and a WordPad file displaying my site details.

The DirectoryList xml file contains 250+ Web Directory Links from [ PR 6 ] to [ PR 4 ] .

That's the reason for creating this page.
I'm using Asp.Net and XML files. No databases. This way you can change the xml file containing your site description and update the directory list from the other xml file.

This is the url to the zipped folder:
http://www.optimizaremaster.org/cost...Submission.zip

There is a "readme.txt" file containing everything you need to know and do

If you still have questions, I'll be here

Wow this looks like an amazing tool! I'm not a real 'directory submitter', but I might give this a try sometime.

Great job on making it!

This is my present for you

I hope I'll be forgiven for reviving this old thread, but I've finnished this "project" of mine and I wanted to let you all know.

Final directory list update: 1166 directories (free & paid).

The HTML version is also available [ it's more like an XML version though ], and it's using the XSLT to transform the XML file, so you must have one XSLT compliant browser.

Browser support:
- IE6 & IE7
- Firefox 2
- Opera 9

If you plan to run only the HTML(XML) version, then you can unzip the archive wherever you want on the HDD, but if you plan to use the ASP.NET version, then unzip it in the wwwroot folder, located on C:/inetpub. (see the readme.txt file)

@ToddW:
I was thinking on something that will make directory submissions a breeze! Using just one window to group all directories and to display them in the same window instead of navigating trough lots of tabs in the browser.

@Mihai:
Thank you!

I can't get the default.asp to come up. I type in inetmgr in the run window and get an error. Any thoughts?

@ The American Voters:
that means you don't have IIS installed on your computer. You can turn it on following these steps: (I guess you're using Win XP)
- open the run window
- type appwiz.cpl and hit the enter button
- the "Add/Remove Programs" window will pop up
- click the "Add/Remove Windows Components"
- the "Windows Components Wizard" window will appear
- select "Internet Information Services (IIS)" from the list
- click on the "Details" button
- the "Internet Information Services (IIS)" window will show up
- check the: ftp service, IIS snap-in, www service (if they are not already checked)
- select the last option (world wide web service) and click the "details" button
- the "world wide web service" window will appear
- check the last two items from the list
- return by clicking the "OK" button on every page opened so far
- the setup will require you to insert the "Win XP CD". Do that and you're all set.

btw, it's default.aspx and not default.asp

as an alternative you can use the xml version located in the html folder: DirectoryListing.xml

hope this helps you!
