v7n directory link and signature link.
If your site link in v7n signature it mean that there no sence to add this link into directory because Google count links from the same domain as 1 link. Is it correct?
2 question... v7n directory or signature... where more power?

2 Signature must be more powerfull, i mean google has its super smart algro.
signature is free, directory costs money, there for webmaster who pays for a link in the directory is super stupid, and does not deserve to rank in google SERPs.
Why are there so many stupid people who pay for the v7n directory!!!!!!!!

Forum signatures are non-editorial - non-editorial links like forum signatures and guestbook spam are for the most part worthless.

Google count directory links including paid links.

You people i think dont seem to really understand what is the purpose of a Directory! Its not just a backlink, it gives you traffic and it gives you a solid target traffic from your niche, i know a backlink can be generated even from a signature link but the directory's link is more stronger than a signature link(unless you are too much of an active member). Besides V7N is one of the top notch directory,an Authority directory and what else you need? there is no question why someone wont want to list there!!!

ok guys, guess the sarcasm was not obvious enough. I am well aware that a strong directory link such as v7n is worth more than 500 or so spamable forum signatures, i was just making a joke in reference to all the mad things people speculate about google.
It is worth saying though that forum links can provide some good free traffic if its relevant.

Experiments prove sign links links are worthless for SEO.
More than one link from a website can count towards ranking depending on factors only Google knows about but you can guess (possibly the PR/trust of the site giving the links and duplicate repetition etc..)

Signatures do count as backlinks anyways but a directory submission is a solid backlink, giving you traffic as well!

As a matter of fact they do, if they count as backlinks, they help you gain PR, and your gain in PR helps you in better rankings!!!
isnt that so?

The back links show but the site does not gain ranking in the SERPS.
Directory links on the other hand do have some weight.

So (for example) if V7n and Seven Seek are on the same server, whould it make sense two get both directory listing or would they only count as one link?

Same IP doesn't discount the value of the link - it just helps Google when they are looking for spammers.
Google does have a patent. We saw its effects for a while, then no more. I personally think it is no longer in use.

Never forget, Google is not the only SE in the world. I personally like MSN/Yahoo! traffic much more, converts better.

Directory links are much better than forum signature links as directory links are edited and reviewed by humans. So far question of paid directory listing is concerned there are lot of signature on forums which are also sold by the users for price.
