Yup.
If you get sitewide links from about 20 directories you may get that number of links from Yahoo site explorer.

The time used worrying about what the spiders are doing could be better spent improving your web site. We all need to think long term and not over react over one or two days shifts, changes or events. Thanks, this is a good lesson for all of us to stay patient.

I didn't say 6500 popularity links you might know where im getting this #, but i did say 46000 over night , and 105,000 total. So it looks like im doing my job are you?

I braught up the subject cornbread, because i didn't know why yahoo spidered this many links in one day. The reason i asked this question in the forum wasn't for trophies or promotions it was to see what was going on with my directory obviously this is a webmasters job. Sorry for being offensive with you, but sometimes it seems like you follow me around with sarcastic statements, and i have alot better things to do with my time.

It's all good Rankdaddy, Cavemen are just sarcastic people
Yea Yahoo is weird with their back links, it seems they count every single link from the same site, so if you have a site wide link from someone they count it like 10,000 times, so the number of total links in Yahoo is irrelevant anyway because it is so grossly exaggerated. There are much better avenues to check your links than Yahoo. I am just trying to give you advice so you won't lose any sleep over it.

Wow, thanks Rankland, am sure your readers will like to look at me even though I have a protruding Brow, flat nose and a scraggily beard. You got to be kidding me, you drink Coors Light?

Yahoo spiders all the time and counts each link individually. For example, if you made 30 seperate threads at V7N with your URL in your signature, you would essentially have 30 yahoo backlinks. Yahoo counts all backlinks, not just uniques.

If yahoo gives out links all the time why does w2u.com only have 109 links.
