I assume you mean allowed by Google and their deliberately vague webmaster guidelines? 30 a day is good, because assuming you mean free submissions most won't be indexed or added the same day that you submit them. Sometimes it can take up to six months for a free directory to get round to adding you, although the majority will accept or reject your website within a month.

As far as what is most efficient however, in terms of the best use of your time, 30 submissions per day may not be that useful. You will be far better off working from a selective list of good SEO friendly directories that are relevant to your niches. Try compiling something like this to work from:

http://www.quantawebdesign.com/tips/...ory-niche.html

Also consider http://info.vilesilencer.com/

Basically you need to avoid wasting your time on dead directories or ones which won't add you, so you have more time to concentrate on other tasks.

dnt restrict yourself 30 submissions per day..do as many you want..make sure you submit your links to quality directories which has a better pagerank.submitting to new directories its just a waste of time what i can say.there are loads of new directories available out there.try to choose best of them.before submitting to directories do some research about that particular directory.like backlinks.not only directories will help you the build back links.try sharing your links @ social book marks sites like digg,netscape..etc just google for more.and concentrate on link exchange.with high pr websites.
which company you work for ?
you from bangalore ?

Hi,
It does not matter a lot that how much submissions you do per day it depends on you how much you can but quality matters a lot and it is recomended to slightly change your Anchor Text and descriptions while submissions as it will be better from the search engine's point of view.

As you know the rate of gaining links or approval takes time so submitting to lots of directories does not mean you will gain a lot of links at a time so dont worry about how many submissions you do per day.

30 a day, be happy if 10% of them get Okayed and spidered by google, especially if they are free listings.
Building 1 quality link is far more important them scattergunning the internet directories for a day, it will take more time, you may even need to to talk to a human being about sites pros and cons but it will be worth it.

I got one client a link to a PR 6 site in our industry, loads of traffic, really strong site, and their PR went up to 3 from nothing in 3 months, it wasn't the only seo stuff we did for them, but it took a long time and a lot of talking to get the up. But I think it made a big difference, its also easier to get links form other sites now as it gives some credibility to the site.

I’m going to go out on a limb and disagree with the experts on here. I’ve found that submitting to directories is extremely helpful, even ones of questionable quality. I’ve gotten several #1 ranking by submitting odd search terms to a few directories. These search terms are not searched very often but there is almost no competition for them. Just one or two links to your site for “youth Nike golf shoes” for example may be enough to get you a very high ranking.

I’ve sort of hit a wall though. I’ve submitted to about 1,200 directories so far. I know there are thousands out there, but how do I find them?

30 per day submission is good but important thing is how many of them approved it quickly and how many of them spidered by google.

DirectoryCritic.com is a good next step.

I'm curious... how the heck did you submit to so many? How many unique titles (i.e. anchor text) and descriptions would you estimate you submitted in these 1200 or so submissions?

Best of success to you.

I used digixmas. That tool is amazing if you submit to directories. They have a list with about 1,000 directories. I submitted to about 100 per week until I finished the list. I changed the anchor text about every 30 submissions but they all had roughly the same Titles ie

Black t-shirts
youth black t-shits
t-shirt deals
youth t-shirt deals
etc.....

It was very easy and got me great results. I've finished their list of 1,000, but now what? I find one here and there to submit to but where can I find aother list of a few hundred or more?
