Could some one recommend me a good directory submission service.

Hi,

Could some one recommend me a good directory submission service.

Please don't reply with your offers for directory submission, I am looking for buyers/clients who have had a good experience and have checked the links after they have been submitted and that those links actually made a difference to their sites PR or SERP.

Thanks,

Gary

Don't waste your time or money with Directory submission services. Google is in the process of eliminating most paid directories, and the free ones are to spammy to provide any value, so I would wait until this all blows over.

Cornbread how do you know what googles doing? are you part of the google organization? Your a football site that knows nothing about directories or searches. Since you know so much about web directories payed and free that are going to get eliminated could you share stock market information.

My question would be to anybody that says directories are worthless would be whos going to put people on the board to be seen? What do you think your going to give google a phone call, and hes going to give you a link. directories are going to stay productive on the internet, but there are alot of webmasters who have had alot of problems with directories so they always have negitive comments. Maybe pr. isnt here so everyone wants to believe that googles putting a nife in big webdirectories. Lets say you were a business man, and you wanted to make sure your business was going to run smooth you wouldn't shoot all your employees would you? well since directories are your main way of getting links why would google kill your employees?

I know for a fact there are some weird things going on right now with Directories and Google. A few paid directories are disappearing out of the Google search results and a few more are having some of their inner pages cache disappear. These things are well known and widely reported. So in my opinion, I would hold off on submitting to any directory for a while until we see how this shakes out. Before I start I have noticed the various smilies in your post and we should also note I am the author of this thread who was asking the question about submission services....

But I think you are over estimating the importance of directories. I recently launched 4 different sites and they all got indexed into Google and we get traffic etc WITHOUT a single link in a directory.

How did we do this, we placed the links in blogs, forums and on other established sites (nothing paid for btw). We also wrote a press release which resulted in some links as well. The result was that Google snapped us up and 1 site was indexed within 24 hours of its launch and the others within 72 hours.

Directories aren't the only way to "put people on the board" and as far as I can see right now the best way to "give Google a phone call" is to get your site blogged about, especially on blogger.

PART 2

As a separate thing, I note with interest that NOT 1 PERSON has been able to give a reference to a good directory submitter... Is this because they don't exist?

Thanks,

Gary

I'm also cynical about the value of submission services ... I've had perhaps a dozen new sites each submitted to 200+ directories (submissions are cheap and I used it as a part of my link building strategy for a while) over the past couple of years. None of the sites has gained serious backlinks or traffic from these submissions - there may be benefits to come in future, but I'm not convinced.

A good submitter is http://www.theseoworld.com/directories_submission.html ... haven't used them for a few months, but always provided a good service to me (even if I now doubt its value).

You need to check the directory before submitting your link, because a wk ago i changed my web directory to a bidding directory 8 days ago almost every site that submitted me has imbound link. this is your job to check the directory before submitting.

This happens all the time to big directories, little directories, free directories or paid directories. Its every web masters responcibility to check the directory your submitting..... not stop submitting. If the searches are giving this directory popularity links you should probably submit this site.
