DMOZ is the wait forever?

I have been waiting for sometime to be added to DMOZ? Does it benefit PR greatly? Also, do we have to wait a century? =)

Not another one of these threads!

DMOZ is suggest and forget. DMOZ does not offer a submission processing service for webmasters. If a site is listable, then it can take anywhere between minute to years after being suggested, assuming the editor working on the category chooses to use the pool of suggested sites as their source for new sites.

If you are talking about Doc1Vitamins then do not hold your breath as its not listable.

It is difficult to be listed on DMOZ directory and you need to wait for 6 months or sometimes it is rejected. Page rank is one factor in evaluating site but the importance is submitting your link to related categories and your site must follow their guidelines.

Rubbish. PR has nothing to do with it

Rubbish. The guidelines say submit to only ONE category. Spamming DMOZ is more likely to harm than help a site get reviewed.

i agree - DMOZ is no longer important. In the old days yes it was almost essential , but now there are so many better options.

As you say. You have to wait for a century before your site will be listed.

What are some easier options than listing on DMOZ? Are there many high PR free sites?

DMOZ is edited by humans. Page ranking is done by bots. Maybe updating of page rank is done by humans.

DMOZ is The Submit and Forget Directory... Instead of spending your time with them, try to focus on other SEO techniques that can benefit your SERPS...
