What other directories do you beleive are worth submitting to apart from the giants, Yahoo and DMOZ ?
Also, Please mention whether they are free are paid ...
P.S : Please provide their URL too ... and the lazy ones, do use the URL tag ...  |

Wow, you don't want much do you? Your asking for people to do the work for you. Luckly for you we have. Check out our list of directories. The free ones are mixed in with the ones that charge, but most of the URLs should go to page you are looking for. |

I don’t know of a list of all the free directories. It would be a difficult list to maintain with some of the small directories turning their free submission on every time they need publicity. Just look for their postings on webmaster related bulletin boards of the free submission being open and expecting 3 cheers and a pat on the back. |

most penalties get sites delisted, but more recently google has blocked pagerank of some sites (they blocked the ability to parse outbound link popularity of a few sites selling unrelated ads). |

Lots of affiliate link farms call themselves directories and end up getting penalized. Only one legitimate directory that I know of might be getting penalized, and that’s for duplicate content. :wink: |

I hate to point out specific examples because they are rather rare that they occur, but they are usually easy to spot when they do. I think directory-search.org moved his site to biz-directory.org because the old domain may have been penalized. I primarily make that statement because he has some powerful inbound links from a PR 8 site that should be giving him at least a PR7 if their link popularity was parsing through.
