There is really no such thing as "how long" as DMOZ is not a listing service for webmasters. Half the sites that get listed are done so without even being suggested. Editors are under no obligation to even look at the pool of suggested sites. If an editor chooses to use the pool of suggested sites to review to look for sites to build a category and your site is listable, it could be anywhere from minutes to years after you suggested the site.

it really depends on the category you are submitting to, if there is no active moderators looking after the category, you will have to wait till there is one to go through the long waiting list before you.

Submit it and forget it. It may take weeks, or it may take years, but every moment worried about it, is wasted.

Just submit and forget it because nobody knows DMOZ strategy for adding any site and how much time take.

If i was to say, It could take your lifetime I would not be joking. DMOZ, its like asking will it rain in a month, you cannot say, some section are no longer managed and have been left to die but other are managed very well.
Its a matter of who is the editor of a section

duh? Why did you submit more than once? Every time you have submitted, you just overwrote the previous submission with the new date. if an editor chooses to use the pool of sites submitted to look for new sites and sorts them by date, you just keep moving your site to the back!

Time for approval depend on more things.

One of my sites got listed without me ever submitting it. It's the last thing anyone should worry about IMO.

More than half the new sites listed by DMOZ were never submitted in the first place.

One of my sites has been listed in DMOZ over over 10 years now. The only thing is, I really REALLY would like them to bring the listing up to date (I have requested it of course) because it still has 1990's figures for a MASSIVE repository of stuff which back then was 400Mb (yay for dialup)!
That is kinda underwhelming by a figure of 55GB on the same site today (yay for broadband).

Forever and ever and ever plus a day. dmoz.org seems to be a site that is being crushed under its own weight. I only submit sites to them as an after thought.
