Lessons Learned

Hello,

I was wondering if directory owners that have been around longer than I, have any lessons learned they care to share? Things, in hind-sight, that you would have done differently with one or more of your sites?

- Different category structure, that is now difficult to change
- Paid versus free
- Things you would have done different with advertising
- Use a different directory script
- etc.

Thought this might be an interesting topic for my first post.

Thanks,
Paul

First of all, does your directory have PR and a good placement in the search engines? Overall, this is what really matters.

None so far. We are happy with the current status of our directory.

Just one advice though, keep it well-maintained - whether it be a free or paid directory
