Free Yahoo Directory Listing
I'm seeing a good number of people selling guaranteed Yahoo Directory listings for as little as $50. Some are selling these listings for even more money and people are buying!

I discussed the issue of getting a Yahoo Directory listing for free in a previous post. I think most will find the information very helpful.

Information is money, but in this case I think some people selling these Yahoo listings are going to far. I even received such offers through my contact form, so be cautious and informed. Generally speaking, getting into the Yahoo Directory for free is something anyone should be able to do with the right information.

Permanent, unless your site theme changes or the site does not resolve when they make periodic checks on listings...

Free Yahoo listings, Free AdWords clicks, Free Ebay listings... SCAM!

1. Most likely they will take your money and will dissapear.
2. Your site will be listed on directory.yahoo.5437xmm dot com ( with the same design )
3. They will pay for you with stolen credit card.


In #3 case you are at risk to go to jail or pay $$$ settlement for being stupid.
In #2 case you are risking to be banned from Google.
In #1 case you are at risk to give away your money and identity.

Did you view the link in my original post before posting such an opinion? Nowhere did I mention any money is needed to get a free Yahoo Directory listing. The key is to submit to one of Yahoo's regional directories for free. Then that listing gets distributed to Yahoo's other directories, if applicable.

What kind of site are you trying to submit to Yahoo? I know for a fact that sites serving a global audience can get a free listing in Yahoo. You may be SOL if you are trying to submit a Pensacola Florida City Guide type of site...

I'm attempting to get listed in Yahoo Canada right now. Conveniently the site in question does cater a bit to Canadians. So we'll see what happens.

Actually, free listing to directory will do. It's enough for your site. Paid listings are just waste of time, and if worse comes to worst, it will definitely hurt your site.
