Thumbs down Help me find a reliable host!

I am looking for a host that provides pretty much an unlimited hosting plan...that won't cut me off just because. I have a simple email service which I run and I would like to move to a larger and more reliable host that would be able to grow with me as my email service grows. I also need to have a host who is very good with customer service and doesn't have restrictions on how many emails can be sent per hour or per day. (Doesn't help with an email service...) Thirdly, I need to be able to get a dedicated IP, which is pretty much a requirement for emailing...and Finally, they need to have cPanel. Right now, I can live on Shared Hosting or Cluster Hosting (that is less than $6 a month) but I would like a host who does have dedicated, ect. so that I can grow later

I have seen at StartLogic, WebHostingPad, Dot5Hosting...anyone use them? Are any of them good? Are there any other hosts that are good?

@bryzo - I can honestly say that the chance of finding a host with all of the above, and will do it for $6 a month, is a long shot. Most shared hosting plans place a cap on the email to prevent abuse from wanna-be spammers who want to make a quick buck.

Your best bet is to find a host that offers you a generous amount of outgoing email in their shared plans *and* has larger plans that you can grow into as your company grows (such as VPS or Semi-Dedicated).

Can you tell me how many outbound emails you are sending right now per hour and per day?

Can you tell me about your email service? If you are sending anything that is considered "unsolicited bulk email" then WebHostingPad and Dot5Hosting are out! Apparently their Terms of Services explicitly prohibit anything that is considered *unsolicited*.

However, if your email service is something that someone can freely opt-in (such as a newsletter service), then you might be OK with WebHostingPad and Dot5Hosting.

First thing that you want to consider is your email.

Are you using your site to send the emails or are you sending your email through a email program such as Outlook?
The reason why I ask is sometimes if you use a a program such as Outlook or some other email program you may fall under the restriction of you Internet provider. for example, I use Road Runner and I am restricted to 1000 emails per day. They also block port 25 so i can't use a 3rd party SMTP agent to send our my emails.

If you are using your website to send emails out then this restriction would not come into play since your emails would be sent by your hosting company. Then you need to check with you hosting comapny to see what resriction they have.

I have been using http://www.ultimahosts.net/for about 5 years now and I can not say enough about how good they have been to me. They are very quick to resolve any issues and they also accept website that use ASP.net, PHP and just about any thing that you need to run your site.

Brian294: Bryzo is a email service, like GMail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, ect.....so unless the users are sending stuff unsolicited, then its not unsolicited (but I want the ability to get SMTP logs to monitor for abuse or have the host alert me of abuse.)

I have no idea of how many emails are being sent out of our system a day...I'm guessing less than 100 right now...but if we continue...I don't want a cap to prevent me from growing.

I don't mind if the cost is more than $6 a month...but I don't want to be paying a arm and a leg for it...this is a hobby right now... I know a dedicated IP ususally costs $2.50 a month..which is fine with me, I would just like the base price (without extra features less than $6 if possible)

Bluehost really sucks - if you run a small website without anyadvanced scripting and if you don't need traffic bluehost can do. They failed in anyway to fullfil my expectations...

I use KaziHost. Its one of the best I think. I have only been with them for a week now and the service is great. The server went offline twice but KaziHost staff had it back online in a few days.

If you can name how much do you exactly need to send that will be always better to know that know nothing

I tried to go into the spam business - but they caught me.

Now I need to find a host that will allow it.

Real advice - there are hosts that will set you up but they will cost ya.
Most of the backbones will kill a host if he allows spammers.
China right now seems to be the place that is Spammer friendly.

there is no webhost without restrictions, even hostgator. Just imagine sending 5000 mails / hour or using 20 % CPU for 3 $ / month. Not possible.

Do some search for their domain names on the webhostingtalk.com or on google and you will find some reviews on them

Good luck at $6 bucks per month. There are solutions out there, but most companies will want to actually talk vs email/PM/chat about their solutions and they are generally not cheap.
